Effects

The fever begins as a common illness, but the body temperature of those affliced refuses to decreased in any way, and after weeks of agony they die as their body burns them from the inside. Surviving it is not impossible, but extremely rare, the probability of surviving it is about one in four, but increases if the host is younger.

The fever is caused by a gradual transformation of the blood of the afflicted in Sin.

The fever is, in a sense, contagious due to the Sin that gets created inside the body of those afflicted.

Countermeasures and Cures

In 882 ID the developed protective garments know as , which can be used to greatly reduce the risk of contagion.

In 897 ID the Laboratory has also created the , a medicine that must be in injected near the eyes one time every two days. It more than doubles the probability of surviving the Blazing Fever if injected soon enough.
